History and Mission of Higgins Stone Company
Higgins Stone opened in 1981 with one employee (who was also the owner), a broken down flatbed, an old skid loader and a lot of heart. Through the years, one employee has turned into many, the equipment has improved and a reputation of trust, value, and great products has emerged.
We have found it absolutely necessary to have open minds and to train ourselves in every aspect of the stone industry. It is only then that we may understand the obstacles that you are up against and how to tailor our products to best fit your specific needs to ensure a smooth and productive project. Many of the individuals on our team have profound knowledge in the field, as well as, the effort that must go into the planning and execution stages of a project. We feel it imperative to continue increasing this knowledge so we may better serve our consumers, in quality, service and affordability.
Our company is honored to have organized a great team of talented and passionate individuals who make a daily habit of going above and beyond the call of duty. They strive to foster a good experience for the customer and to unearth smarter ways of doing business so we may continue to further improve product, price and reputation. Their professionalism, integrity and ethics are a key component to the success of our products.
Our wide range of equipment allows us a variety of stone-cutting methods that assist us in keeping quick production times and attaining inhuman accuracy. In having this variety of methods we have the ability to produce high quality stone at a fair price.
As we continue to grow, new colors of limestone are being introduced to better serve our customers needs and wants. Currently, our limestone consists of five colors: Dover Shell, Light Dover Grey, Dark Dover Grey, Top-Ledge and Bottom-Ledge Cottonwood and Onaga. All of this limestone can be cut into various patterns of Standard Full Veneer as well as Thin Veneer, sills and headers, capstones and keystones, countertops and tile, balusters and arches and on and on. We are always thinking of new products to introduce and encourage our customers to refrain from being shy about asking for a product they need that may not be listed on our product listing.
